STEVE WHITE
Steve is the front man and main songwriter from East London’s favourite political singalong folk/punk group, Steve White & The Protest Family. The band’s nine-year career has seen them play the length and breadth of the UK and has spawned four albums, the latest of which Protest For Dummies saw Folk Words describe them as proving “once again that protest is alive and kicking, ready to lash out and still full of fire”.
Steve’s solo shows have become something of a rarity in recent years, but expect songs from his between-band-records solo releases, plus a few Family favourites..

JAX BRAITHWAITE
Jax is an alternative/folk singer-songwriter with a guitar and often a ukelele. Jax is a busker on the London Underground, has been playing guitar since 2009 and takes inspiration from fellow lady songstresses such as Joni Mitchell, Martha Wainwright and Sara Bareilles.
Jax also works as a theatre maker and producer with Žuži Theatre and Two Box Productions

GERI VAN ESSEN
Geri is an East London based singer whose voice has a simple, understated character. She will be performing her own quietly evocative songs.
"Her voice stood out" - Cerys Matthews, Radio 6 Music.

LUKE FAIRHEAD
Luke is a London based singer/songwriter, singing a bitter-sweet collection of contemporary folk songs which encapsulate the ebb and flow of life in London in a wistful way.
His latest EP titled 'Hinterland' is due for release in summer 2019.

FRIDAY 1st NOVEMBER 2019 MONTBRETIA TURTLE ON MY KNEE EMMA SCARR SOPHIE CRAWFORD MONTBRETIA I’m Montbretia and have been playing the guitar for 5 years now and have recently started doing open mics. I’ve played several times at the Wanstead Tap and have supported Eliza Carthy- which was amazing. I’ve grown up listening to Bob Dylan and The Eagles and love learning their amazingly written songs.
