Brilliantly channeling diverse underground pop influences with nuances of classic blues and jazz, they deliver an edgy and soulful modern sound with raw and rootsy instrumentation. Based in North East London, 𝐊𝐢𝐦𝐦𝐢 𝐖𝐚𝐭𝐬𝐨𝐧 has been writing songs and performing solo or in bands since 1990. She plays bass, guitar, harmonica and ukulele. Her most recent recording, writing and performing experiences have been with the bands Sulk93. Ich Bin Finn and Lady President. Both of which can also be found on Bandcamp. She has also played bass for the band Viper and Sam Kurt. Songs and tunes to make you laugh and cry ...not necessarily at the same time. FRIDAY 1st NOVEMBER 2019 MONTBRETIA TURTLE ON MY KNEE EMMA SCARR SOPHIE CRAWFORD MONTBRETIA I’m Montbretia and have been playing the guitar for 5 years now and have recently started doing open mics. I’ve played several times at the Wanstead Tap and have supported Eliza Carthy- which was amazing. I’ve grown up listening to Bob Dylan and The Eagles and love learning their amazingly written songs. TURTLE ON MY KNEE Two grown men who have never made it to Barnstable. They have never made it as an electro-funk band either, hence their decision to play bluegrass and country music. But they enjoy playing together, and would enjoy playing for you too. Together they provide an eclectic repertoire of styles and genres, performing with a strong groove and foot-stomping energy. EMMA SCARR Emma writes songs about ordinary people in ordinary situations, capturing everyday experiences, and honing them into beautiful songs with unflinching honesty. Songs that remind us that ...

FRIDAY 5th JULY 2019 KATIE MF PUNKZOUKI® STEVE O'DONOGHUE JAX BRAITHWAITE KATIE MF Forged in the differently-burning fires of Friday night moshpits and Sunday afternoon folk singalongs, Katie MF’s folk/punk has been described as ‘the female Frank Turner I didn’t know I needed’ – something she’s not at all sad about. Her debut EP, Learning How To Lie, was released in April 2018.  STEVE O'DONOGHUE Last minute replacement for Mike Nisbet PUNKZOUKI® They said no-one would be stupid enough to try it, but they reckoned without Funky Lol Ross (Steve White & The Protest Family). Jax is a busker on the London Underground, has been playing guitar since 2009 and takes inspiration from fellow lady songstresses such as Joni Mitchell, Martha Wainwright and Sara Bareilles. FRIDAY 3rd MAY 2020  STEVE WHITE GERI VAN ESSEN LUKE FAIRHEAD JAX BRAITHWAITE STEVE WHITE Steve is the front man and main songwriter from East London’s favourite political singalong folk/punk group, Steve White & The Protest Family. The band’s nine-year career has seen them play the length and breadth of the UK and has spawned four albums, the latest of which Protest For Dummies saw Folk Words describe them as proving “once again that protest is alive and kicking, ready to lash out and still full of fire”. Steve’s solo shows have become something of a rarity in recent years, but expect songs from his between-band-records solo releases, plus a few Family favourites.. JAX BRAITHWAITE Jax is an alternative/folk singer-songwriter with a guitar and often a ukelele. Jax is a busker on the London Underground, has been playing guitar since 2009 and takes inspiration from fellow lady songstresses such as Joni Mitchell, Martha Wainwright and Sara Bareilles.
